RSW, MSW, Social Worker in Clinical Practice

I might be a good fit as your therapist if you enjoy a warm and supportive therapy environment that can be direct, where humour is welcome, and where it feels safe to talk about hard or embarrassing things. I enjoy working with people taking steps towards the lives they want - to live authentically, take up space, improve relationships, or understand loved ones and the world around them.

I am a social worker in clinical practice, which means that work with clients is focused on both internal feelings / processes as well as focused on interactions with the outside world - amongst friends, in families, workplaces, schools and other environments. Depending on the person I am working with and their needs and goals, I draw from Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Sex Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and other approaches.

I am a fat, queer femme person and I deeply believe that all people deserve support to live rich and full lives, with the tools to overcome oppression. I have experience with issues related to Trans, Queer (2SLGBTQ) identities, Sexuality, HIV/AIDS, polyamory, sex work, kink, adoption, disability, neurodivergence and recovery.

I am white, secular with several generations settler history in Canada and in the Edmonton area.  I think deeply about my relationships as a beneficiary of Treaty 6 and seek opportunities to learn and practice in a way that challenges colonizing norms. My practice is rooted in feminism, queer and trans liberation, anti-racism and anti-oppression.
