Registered Provisional Psychologist

Hello, lovely humans!

I’m Gaby, a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I’m a queer cisgender woman and an immigrant to Canada since 2007, fluent in both English and Portuguese (with a touch of Spanish, too!). I live and work as a settler on Moh'kinsstis, located on the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), as well as the Stoney Nakoda and Tsuut'ina Nations, and the Métis Nation Region Three, known today as Calgary, Alberta.

Born into a family of settlers in Brazil, my identity is shaped by both the privilege I carry and the oppression I’ve experienced. As a mom, wife, sister, friend, and therapist, I hold a deep awareness that we are all so much more than what meets the eye.

I bring kindness, care, and a healthy dose of directness to both my life and my work. I’m unapologetically passionate about social justice, and that conviction deeply informs how I show up in therapy. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and empowered.

My approach is rooted in a person-centered, feminist framework and grounded in trauma-trained, anti-oppressive, and non-judgmental principles. I honor multicultural perspectives and embrace inclusivity, HAES (Health at Every Size), sex and body neutrality, and mindfulness. By weaving together somatic and neurobiological strategies with mindfulness and strength-based interventions, I aim to meet you exactly where you are.

For the past 8 years, I have supported individuals navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, depression, relationship dynamics, family-of-origin concerns, sexual violence, trauma, and PTSD. I am EMDR-trained to help process complex emotional experiences. As a sex therapist, I guide clients navigating through sexual distress, identity exploration, and journeys toward self-acceptance, pleasure, and healthy sexual relationships. In my work as a sexual health educator and counsellor, I have also supported clients through gender transitions, helped address the stigmas associated with STIs, and worked with individuals to identify and address their own internalized homophobia and transphobia, among other challenges.

Above all, I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll co-create a space where your authenticity is celebrated, vulnerability is met with compassion, and personal empowerment can flourish. Healing, growth, and a greater sense of peace are possible—and I’m here to walk alongside you on that journey.
